The Bronze Sculptures Collection
Californian sculptor Steven John Posson muses: “All of life involves motion. We get from here to there, sometimes in a hurry and other times we take it slow. My sculptures are concerned with people in motion. My subjects include people in their vehicles on the move, a couple on a Sunday drive, an intense man in a competitive race, a child joyful in his first pedal car. I find great pleasure in creating art that reflects our culture and its mobility.”
Prior to fine art, Steve studied car design at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. He then sculpted prototype bodywork for Jeep, Volvo and Renault, in their Southern California design studios.
Posson now combines his passion for vehicles, his creative talents and his love of the ancient technique of lost-wax bronze casting. “It's as if I can freeze an expressive instant of man and machine in motion,” he says. “This method is so precise that I can cast a fingerprint and the medium has an unequaled beauty and permanence.”
Posson’s art can be found in galleries and in public and private collections throughout the United States and abroad. “Owning both the actual car and the bronze, I can say he captured the car.” says Bruce Meyer of Posson's Number 98 Agajanian Special.
Corporate clients include Ford Motor Company, Petersen Automotive Museum, Harley-Davidson, American Motorcyclist Association, and the Amici Americani de la Mille Miglia.
