The Dragster Collection
Ed Golden was born in California in 1957, right on the edge of the Car Culture Generation. He grew up with a passion for motor sports and muscle cars. He owns a vintage dragster and rides a Harley Davidson motorcycle. There have been very few days in the past 34 years that Ed has not drawn at least one car. In Golden’s life, art and the automobile are inseparable!
Golden is a Design Director at Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan, responsible for the design of the Ford, Mercury, and Lincoln car lineup for North America. For the Ford brand, his job involves shaping the future of Focus, Futura, Freestyle, Five Hundred, and two of the most powerful automotive legends of all time – Thunderbird and Mustang. In his spare time away from the studio, Ed indulges his passion for motor sport by creating art of dragsters, race cars, hot rods, customs and vintage aircraft.
"Most of my car art portrays drag racing. It's exciting, with very dramatic lighting at night. It's the sport that's most accessible to me, other than shooting street rods and customs" says this talented designer and artist.
Golden earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design from the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.
