"Want to Know Why I Use It?" (Auto Repairman)
Secondary Market: Original oil on canvas (wax relined) grisaille painting.
Signed "Norman Rockwell", lower right (see close-up.)

Raybestos brake service advertisement reproduced in The Saturday Evening Post on February 4th,1922, page 84, volume 1 #680.

The service man is shown holding the vehicle's brake shoe and asking the reader the question: "Want to know why I use it (Raybestos)?"

Initially entitled Auto Repairman.  Rockwell painted over this part to cover the words when he sold the piece.  A very nice image, indicative of many of his earlier works.  Moffatt book Volume I Page 512 #A680
