JUAN CARLOS FERRIGNO
The Motorsport Collection
Juan Carlos Ferrigno captures the speed and power of movement in a way that virtually no other artist can. He fell in love with motorsports after seeing a race at the age of 10. It was a passion which grew and deepened, dominating his whole life.
Juan Carlos was born in 1960 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he spent his youth. He began his professional career in 1979 at a top Argentinean studio, working on high profile motoring projects over a six year period.
In 1996 Ferrigno won the first Grand Prix Sportique International Motoring Art Competition with his painting entitled Fangio and Alfa Romeo (available here through Car Art.) Developing this passionate style, Juan Carlos has since established a reputation as one of the most dramatic motor racing artists in the world.
His first book, The Motorsport Art of Juan Carlos Ferrigno by Christopher Hilton, was published in 2000.
In 2004 he was invited by the exclusive Formula One Paddock Club to exhibit at the inaugural Grand Prix in Bahrain. This has since become a custom where spectators see him painting live at famous circuits around the world, such as Monaco, Silverstone, Monza, Spa, Nurburgring and Shanghai.
His work is sought after by generations of racing team owners and drivers. Famous names include Sir Stirling Moss, Jody Scheckter, David Coulthard, Mika Hakkinen, Ron Dennis, and Eddie Jordan.
