"In 1931, the Socony-Vacuum company adopted the Pegasus ‘Flying Red Horse’ trademark as their worldwide corporate symbol. The Pegasus symbolized power and speed. In 1955, they became Socony Mobil Oil Co. and in 1966 simply Mobil Oil Corp."
