Artist Notes:
"Mercer Motor Cars and the Brooklyn Bridge were both developed by the Roebling engineering family. German immigrant John Roebling invented woven wire rope allowing construction of big suspension bridges and his son made the Mercer possible.
"This painting was commissioned by the gentleman who owned the car (Jay Leno has it now.) He is portrayed as the boy driven by his father. He had worked as an ambulance driver at night while attending law school and crossed the Brooklyn Bridge many times."
