Aussie Ferrari
This marquetry is composed of 445 separate inlays of various shapes and sizes, cut from 19 different precious woods, and varnished with a satin finish.
Artist Notes:
"We sometimes associate the sound of a Ferrari engine with a song. That's why I featured the Sydney Opera House as a backdrop. Also, the beautiful curves of the car harmonize nicely with the iconic curving architecture. The car is sycamore dyed red, parked on a dock of fossil oak, and the sky is horse chestnut. Part of the Opera House is common elm and white ebony."
