Trident is an investment cast bronze sculpture available in a classic bronze patina or handpainted full color polychrome.

Artist Notes:
Stirling Moss drifts his Maserati 300S around a mountain road. A brilliant driver in a splendid car. Moss is one of the great names in racing. His combination of toughness, aggressiveness and smoothness earned him a remarkable number of victories in many makes of car on many tracks. Trident is a tribute to Moss and the great Maserati.

Maserati's logo is the trident of Neptune, the Roman god of the sea. The logo was copied from a Renaissance statue in Bologna, Italy, the home of the five Maserati brothers who founded the company. Maserati's nickname, appropriately, is 'Il Tridente.'

Maserati made racing cars starting in 1926. That was their business: blisteringly fast race cars. Maserati won every kind of race in Europe and in the USA, they even won the Indianapolis 500.

In the 1950s, Maserati started building cars for street use. A well-heeled enthusiast could buy a Maserati Formula One or sports racer with a 4, 6 or 8 cylinder engine, from 150 to 400 horsepower. All the cars had classic double-overhead camshaft engines, tubular frames, enormous brakes, wire wheels and bodies hand pounded out of thin aluminum - usually red.

This car is a 300S sports racer with a snarling DOHC six cylinder in a great body built by Fantuzzi, one of many small body builders. Maserati builds fantastic grand touring cars today.
